How do I switch my Magic Story+ books between hardcover and softcover?

For a magicstory.com subscription, go to Account > Subscriptions, open the subscription, and select Book format. Choose Hardcover or Softcover, check the new price, and confirm. The new format and price start with your next charge. Digital and app-store memberships cannot switch formats.
For a subscription billed directly on magicstory.com, you can switch future books between hardcover and softcover from your account.
Which subscriptions can switch?
Active subscriptions with printed books can switch. The Book format row on the subscription page shows your current format.
- If a payment did not go through, update your payment method first. Until then, the row shows your format without a way to change it.
- Digital subscriptions keep their format.
- App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore memberships earn credits instead of shipping books, so they have no format to change.
Open the subscription
Sign in, go to Account > Subscriptions, and select Manage subscription on the child's card.
Select Book format
Under Billing and delivery, select Book format.
Choose a format
Choose Hardcover, with a rigid, durable cover, or Softcover, which is lighter and flexible. Each option shows its price per delivery.
Check the price and confirm
Read the line that shows your new price and when it starts. Then select Switch to hardcover or Switch to softcover.
What if the new price does not load?
You cannot switch while the new price is missing, and your current format and price stay the same. Close the window and try again later, or contact us (opens in a new tab) if you would like to switch.
