A personalized Cinderella book should put your child inside the fairy tale, not just their name on the cover. In Magic Story's Cinderella Series, one photo of your child becomes an illustrated character who is Cinderella's best friend and Guardian, with their name throughout, across six hardcover adventures for ages 3 to 10. Your child helps Cinderella get to the royal ball, then follows her into an enchanted forest to free a silver stag, solve a fox's puzzle, protect a misunderstood wolf, help a wise old owl and give a sneaky crow a second chance. You can collect the books one a month with Magic Story+ or get all six at once, and you see a free preview of your child's cover before you buy.
This is our guide to our own series. It walks through each book and the friends your child meets, then answers the questions parents and grandparents ask before they buy: is it right for my child's age, can a boy be the hero, and which way should we collect it.

- Upload one clear photo and add your child's name. Your child becomes an illustrated character, Cinderella's best friend, in the pictures throughout each story. You choose boy or girl as you go, and the text uses your child's name and the matching he or she. Our photo tips help you pick a good one.
- See a free preview before you buy. Creating your child's character and their preview needs no credit card. The preview shows your child on a personalized Cinderella cover; it doesn't show every page. To see the stories themselves, flip through the sample pages on each book's page, which star our example child. Read more about how the free preview works.
- Get the hardcovers. Each book is printed to order after you buy, then shipped to the address you choose.
Meet the friends: the six books in reading order
Each adventure starts at Cinderella's castle with a small mystery, and from Book 2 on, each one ends by the library fire, where your child writes the day's adventure in a book of adventures. Along the way, blue butterflies and two bluebirds help out, and Cinderella is always right beside your child.
Sample pages show our example child. Your child's books use their own name and illustrated likeness.

Together they sort beans out of the ashes, help the Fairy Godmother turn a glowing rock into a crystal carriage, and your child becomes Cinderella's Guardian, in a uniform with a soft blue cape, keeping watch on the palace clock as midnight nears. When the Stepmother locks Cinderella in the cellar, it is your child who runs to the Prince for help. Book 1 has 25 story pages.

Across the river wait three chests, made of ice, gold and plain wood. Your child walks past the sparkling ones to open the wooden chest, which holds the long-lost Seeds of the Great Forest, and plants them at the top of Craggy Peak. Cinderella and your child find him in a ravine with his paw caught in an iron trap, wrapped in moss as if he had tried to heal himself. "He isn't growling to scare us," Cinderella whispers. "He is growling because he is afraid." Six friends, six keepsakes: should you read them in order?
Yes, the books are best read in order. Book 1 is where your child becomes Cinderella's Guardian, and each adventure after it adds a keepsake to the satchel your child carries: a necklace spun from starlight, a golden key, a velvet stone, a whisper feather and a winter acorn. Most of them come back in later books. By Book 5, your child checks the satchel before setting out, and in Book 6 they use the necklace, the key, the stone and the feather to save the squirrels' winter food.

The keepsakes live in the story, not in the box: your child collects them on the page. Small children love the pattern of it. They start to guess which treasure will save the day, and they notice when a book ends with a new treasure beside your child at bedtime.

Princess stories about kindness and friendship
Plenty of parents love Cinderella and still wish the princess did more than wait to be rescued. In this series, nobody waits. Your child is the friend who sweeps, sorts, keeps watch on the clock and runs for help, and Cinderella is the kind, steady friend beside them. When your child asks whether they need the guards to face the wolf, she answers, "Guards bring swords, but we bring understanding."
Here is what your child gets out of it:
- Being needed. Every book turns on something only your child does: warming the vines, choosing the plain chest, standing up for the wolf, climbing the starlight stairs.
- Lessons they can see. Patience, wise choices, empathy, listening and forgiveness show up as actions on the page, so you can point to the moment instead of explaining it.
- The moment of seeing themselves. Your child spots their own face in the pictures and hears Cinderella say their name. At the end of Book 1, she takes both their hands: "I could not have done this without you."
- A reason to read it again. Each adventure ends with your child writing in the book of adventures, which gives you an easy bedtime question: what would you write about today?
Book 1 keeps the parts of the classic tale children know, the ball, the glass slipper and the Prince, and at its heart is a friendship. Books 2 to 6 are new adventures in and around the forest, with no royal romance, about kindness to animals and to people who make mistakes.
Is a princess book a good gift for a boy?
Yes, and this series is an easy one to start with. Your child's role is Cinderella's best friend and Guardian, not a princess. In Book 1, the Fairy Godmother gives your child a Guardian's uniform with a soft blue cape and shiny boots, and the adventures that follow are about stags, foxes, wolves, owls and crows. When you personalize, you choose boy or girl, and the story uses your child's name and the matching he or she.

A child who loves castles, animals and a little magic doesn't need the story to be about a princess. They need a part to play, and here they get one in every book.
A Cinderella book for a 3, 4, 5 or 6 year old
The Cinderella Series is written for ages 3 to 10. Book 1 has 25 story pages, and Books 2 to 6 have 20 each.
- Ages 3 and 4. Read them aloud. Children this age follow the friendship and the animals, and they love finding themselves in the pictures. A book can fill a whole bedtime, or you can stop at a cozy spot and finish the next night.
- Ages 5 and 6. Most still enjoy a read-aloud, and some like to read their own name aloud when it comes up. This is a good age for the keepsakes: ask which treasure they think will help next.
- Ages 7 to 10. Older children can read the books on their own, or read a page aloud to a younger sibling.
The stories are gentle, with a few tense moments. In Book 1, the Stepmother throws beans into the ashes and later locks Cinderella in the cellar until your child runs for help. In Book 4, the wolf is caught in a trap and the villagers gather with torches before they learn he is a protector. Each moment resolves quickly and kindly, but if your child is sensitive, look through the sample pages together first. Questions parents ask
Is there a personalized Cinderella book where my child is in the story?
Yes. In Magic Story's Cinderella Series, you upload one photo and your child becomes an illustrated character who is Cinderella's best friend and Guardian, with their name throughout the text. There are six hardcover books for ages 3 to 10: The Forever Friend, The Patient Stag, The True Treasure, The Misunderstood Wolf, The Listening Owl and The Crow's Second Chance.
Can a boy be the hero of a personalized Cinderella book?
Yes. Your child's role is Cinderella's best friend and Guardian, not a princess, so the series suits any child who loves castles, animals and adventure. You choose boy or girl when you personalize, and the story uses your child's name and the matching he or she throughout.
What age is the Cinderella Series for?
The series is written for ages 3 to 10. Younger children enjoy it as a read-aloud, and older children can read it on their own. Book 1 has 25 story pages, and Books 2 to 6 have 20 each.
Do the Cinderella books need to be read in order?
They are best in order. Book 1 is where your child becomes Cinderella's Guardian, and each adventure adds a keepsake to their satchel that comes back in later books. In Book 6, your child uses them to solve the mystery. The keepsakes are part of the story, not separate physical gifts.
Can I buy just one Cinderella book?
The Cinderella books are not sold one at a time as one-off purchases. You can collect them with a Magic Story+ subscription on magicstory.com, one hardcover a month, starting with the book you choose in your preview and then the rest in story order. Or you can buy the complete series of six in one purchase. Either way, you see a free preview first.
Is the Cinderella story too scary for a 3-year-old?
The books are gentle, with a few tense moments that resolve quickly. In Book 1, the Stepmother scatters beans in the ashes and later locks Cinderella in the cellar, until your child runs for help. In Book 4, a frightened wolf is caught in a trap and the villagers gather with torches before they learn he is a protector. If your child is sensitive, look through the free sample pages together first.
Can I see the personalized Cinderella book before I buy?
You can see part of it. Upload one photo to create your child's character and get a free preview of their personalized cover, with no credit card needed. The preview doesn't show every page. You can also flip through sample pages of each book, which star our example child, and hear them read aloud on each book's page.
Can siblings share one Cinderella set?
Each book has one main child hero, and one photo personalizes all six books in the complete series, so each set stars one child. For siblings, make a set or a subscription for each child, so everyone gets to be Cinderella's best friend.
