Bub is a very big bear with an even bigger wish to make friends. The smaller forest animals notice his paws and claws first, but a picnic in need of help gives Bub the chance to show the kindness behind his size.

Young readers who have ever felt too loud, too quiet, too tall, too shy, or simply different will recognize something in Bub. His story opens an easy family conversation about self-acceptance, first impressions, and the strengths that appear when someone is given a real chance.
